This section houses critical resources on the New Year’s Day 2009 assault and murder by BART police of Oscar Grant, III, and the ongoing assault on his friends and family. Other resources related to police misconduct and community organizing are also included in this section.

Background – Section includes Background of the Case; hundreds of pages of Court Documents and Notes; Articles from mainstream and alternative Media; and Law & Policy resources related to Police Misconduct.

Mehserle Trial Updates: The mainstream media will be all over the Mehserle Murder Trial – but they won’t cover key questions we’ll want to know, like: Is the District Attorney, David Stein, really doing his job? What strategies is Defense attorney, Michael Rains, using (such as attacking the victims in order to acquit Mehserle)? How is Judge Perry ruling on key questions? What aspects of this case will set legal precedents for future cases of criminal misconduct by police? This site will provide Information and Analysis related to these questions and more, hopefully on a daily basis. (We found out during Pre-Trial phase in Oakland that critical information was either not publicly available or was difficult to obtain in a timely way.)
